Yes, git is installed in Xillinux. And if it wasn't, you could have installed it with apt-get install.

Thanks for your comment. I don't know user can directly use git over the 1.3 version in FPGA. IS it that case ? I'll give it a trial.

Also, are there any early document describing the difference b/w 1.3 and 2.0 for ZNYQ or ZYBO ? It will be better to conduct a migration plan for trial in parallel. Thanks

Isn't git already installed? Or does it matter which version?

Besides, Xillinux-2.0 will hopefully be out within a few weeks. It's based upon Lubuntu 16.04, so it might help.
