Hello,

I can't see any problem with cutting off Xillinux' VGA module from its outputs. If you want to remove the VGA module from the Zynq's bus (for saving the unused DMA cycles it makes), be sure to remove its entry from the device tree. But you could simply turn that interface off from within the Linux environment (the Xillinux logo screensaver doesn't consume any DMA memory bandwidth).

So I can't see any particular problems.

Eli

Hi, dear support,

We used the old ZYBO for porting over Xilinux demo bundle. Now we plan to add a Xillybus slave module and the output of the module will send to the external VGA monitor for the demo like image. However, since the demo bundle already has a VGA port for Linux GUI, the current plan is to bypass the VGA part of Linux GUI and leverage the pin out of the VGA to integrate with our own VGA controller. We think it's feasible but we'd like to hear from you if you see any potential issues we don't see. Thanks

Thanks
All the best,
