Hello,

You didn't mention which board you're using, but it doesn't matter, as none of the boards listed on Xillinux' page have an RTC (Real Time Clock). Consequently, the clock starts at zero on boot -- which brings us back to 1970.

If the board is connected to the Internet with a DHCP server available, the network will configure automatically, and the time will be set based upon Ubuntu's time servers. This happens soon after a boot. This is a fairly convenient workaround if and when wall clock time matters.

Regards,
Eli

The time is not showing up right on the OS. it always shows up as Thu Jan 1 00:00:31 UTC 1970.
How can we correct this ?

Also, I found this,
drivers/rtc/hctosys.c: unable to open rtc device (rtc0)
