Hi,
While undersatnding about layering concept of PCIe devices ;I came across doubts like implementing switch is mandatory in PCIe architecture ??If so switch supports how many devices??

Switches are like routers on the Internet (except that PCIe switches guarantee the delivery of their packets). The limitation on the number of devices directly behind a switch is merely the number of devices that are addressable on a bus.

And if all you need is a single device on the bus, there is no need for a switch between your Root Complex and endpoint.
