Questions and discussions about the Xillybus IP core and drivers

/dev/xillybus_read_8 files missing

Postby Guest »

I am using custom xillybus ip from ip factory, made the changes in the demo bundle project, booted the Zedboard with SD card(with new bit stream).
I am unable to find any Xillybus files in /dev folder.

Hello,

That's odd. The graphics works and everything? Are you sure the design met timing? Any kernel log messages related to Xillybus (use dmesg for them)?

Regards,
Eli

Everything else seems file, the programs are getting executed from linux too. There is mo timing violation.
Is it an issue with the custom IP from the xillybus factory?

Hello,

The smoking gun is

Code: Select all
[ 6.872063] xillybus_of 50000000.xillybus: No response from FPGA. Aborting.

As the IP Core Factory is heavily used with no issues at all, I would rule out any problem with the binary you have.

It looks however like it's not included at all in the project, or that something went wrong during its inclusion in the project. I would suggest starting from a fresh ZIP bundle, follow the instructions for replacing with the custom IP core, and try again.

Regards,
Eli
